Go Green!

We have discovered many ways to go green, but the various approaches to awareness can cause confusion. Sonic has created an eco-alert guide to help you navigate the language and steps you can take to help our planet!

Sonic Promos Green ProductsRecycled: Our recycled products are made from materials destined for disposal that have been reclaimed and converted into new products. There are two forms of recycled products in our industry. Post-consumer recycled products come directly from used products that are broken down and transformed into another reusable product. Post-manufactured products are made from left over scraps of another product. These scraps would otherwise be thrown away.

Products using 100% post-consumer recycled paper are made entirely from recycled materials, ensuring that no trees were cut down to create them.

Sustainable: These are resources that are naturally replenished at the same rate that they are consumed. Our sustainable products are made with materials such as bamboo, cotton or corn. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. It can grow as fast as 121 cm in just 24 hours. Corn plastic comes from corn resin or Polyactic acid. This new form of plastic helps reduce our dependence on oil-based products. Cotton products, such as totes, are an excellent replacement for paper and plastic bags.

Recyclable/Reusable: These products can be used again and again to replace a particular item that might be thrown away after just once use. Non-woven polypropylene bags are an excellent recyclable alternative to shopping bags. Their strength and durability can replace the 1,460 plastic shopping bags an average family of four will use in one year.

Energy Saving: Our energy saving products use renewable energy such as, hand-power, solar and water energy to produce an electrical current as a source of power. Solar power is a renewable energy from an everlasting source. Solar cells convert sunlight into electrical energy for use as a power source. Hand-cranks and wind-ups, or dynamo power, uses electromagnetic principles to convert movement into electrical current, thus providing an everlasting power source.

Natural: Products containing or made from natural materials.

Organic: Products formerly comprised of plant or animal compounds.
